Name:
Dantè O'Bryan McClary
Age:
18
Gender:
Male
Appearance:
Dantè's signature trait is the shaggy white hair that he finds unique to himself, which, taken as an empty canvas, personifies his life and being. His signature red eyes and dark colors have kept most people away from him for his lifetime, and his unfriendly ambiance has never assisted with that at all. Despite his pale skin, Dante is surprisingly slow to tan, and rarely seems to end up with sunburns. And though he possesses a kind heart on the inside, from his signature look of apathy, you wouldn't be able to tell at first glace.
(Dantè is the boy on the right, of course.)
Personality:
Despite his kind heart, Dantè at first glance seems to be the type of person who wouldn't pay anyone notice. His silent demeanor and seemingly introverted personality always cause a large disconnect with his peers. He is unwilling to have fun in dangerous manners, and tends to consistently show that he possesses the exact kind of common sense that some say is no longer common. Dantè when he acquires the rare person that can get close to him can get very concerned and doesn't let a close connection dissolve easily. He is very passionate about his hopes and dreams, and would pursue them relentlessly until proven unobtainable. Overall Dantè is a surprisingly mixed bag and his outer persona does not betray his inner personality.
History:
The Dantè that you see now is not the Dantè that always existed. Like many others before, Dantè went through a troubling path of trials and tribulations before he became the person we see in reality. Resulting from many repetitions of problems thought already mended, and the experience of life the hard way, the Dantè we see now represents the former boy, now a man, who made the best of his experiences regardless of how vicious his life had formerly treated him.
Born to a single mother in a nameless jungle of Canadian territory, Dantè's mother, half Japanese and half Canadian, was the most loving mother a son could ask for. Her affection for her son Dantè was always incredibly obvious, and was never questioned even in the small community she resided in. She always wanted the best for her son, regardless of her own needs and desires. She quickly realized that her rural community was not the best for her son and decided to move back to Japan.
After a long flight to the Japanese mainland, Dantè was integrated heavily into Japanese culture. Already knowing a large part of conversational Japanese, fitting in wasn't as difficult as he once imagined. Only being a quarter Japanese, it was barely noticeable, and he was considered a foreigner and thus very popular to his classmates. Unfortunately, one otherwise nonthreatening day, was the day that happened to change his life forever. A thief, fully armed, broke into Dantè's house during the middle of the night, running into Dantè's mother accidentally. Concerned, frantic, and in a downright panic, Dantè's mother attacked him, her only thoughts being protecting Dantè, worried about his safety over even herself. Unfortunately, his mom was beaten, knocked unconscious, and beaten to death while Dantè was away. By the time he returned home, his house was already a murder scene. Upon realizing the truth, Dantè collapsed, as proof that the reality he experienced was far too much to handle.
So it was likely fortunate that Dantè woke up unable to remember that past after bumping his head in the violent crash, not knowing where he even was. The doctors knew nothing about him, but healed his wounds quite well. Although he was young, he was pretty intelligent, and after a couple difficult conversations with the locals, he managed to learn once again that he was in Japan. After he recovered, he was brought to an orphanage, and shipped throughout many lonely homes which consistently rejected him because of his difficulty learning Japanese, the native language since he was already nearly 10 years of age.
Finally, after many hungry days and plenty of lonely nights, he finally managed to be adopted by a family that accepted him for who he was. Slowly teaching him the Japanese language, the boy, who once knew nothing about himself but his name and his native tongue grew into a functional member of Japanese society while slowly regaining his formerly suppressed and lost memories. Eventually even admitted to Duelist Academy under a middle school recommendation, he managed to enter the next chapter of his life, and attend the school that brought about his passion for dueling.
Although, there was just one more thing more important than that, actually a person, not a thing. The one friend he's ever had that he could actually call his best.
Isabella.
"Bella" De Louge was his best friend at the academy, and ultimately one of the few he ever believed he could truly call his friend. Normally extremely careful around others and surprisingly evasive of being involved in bigger crowds, Dantè was surprisingly unwary of the girl he called "Bells" ever since they first became close. He considered his association with her much simpler than any others, and she seemed incredibly genuine, and like him, just seemed to want herself a friend. Eventually graduating from the Academy, Bells and Dantè had kept in contact, both realizing that they were surprisingly going to attend college together.
Now more aware of his past than ever, and confident in his ability, Dantè's story is ready to continue onward towards achieving his personal goals that have remained his driving force through his rocky path's unyielding hardships that he rarely even reveals.
