Ok for anyone who watched the branch off of Battle City and remember seeing Noah's World with the duel spirits battleing along with the gang there then you'll understand this most likely without needing it to be explained.
-Alright so before you even begin the duel you will need to say what your Duel Monster partner will be. (Dark Magician, Kuriboh...etc....)
~Your partner is someone that can help you out during a duel, but also at it's own cost. You may use the effect of your monster through the duel while it is at your side(keep in mind that this means not on the field- so that are unable to attack or be attacked.)
----------ex. - Let's say that your partner is Whirlwind Prodigy, then during the duel, once per turn if you are sacrificing a wind monster to tribute summon a higher level 8 Wind monster, then the card you are sacrificing on the field can be treated as 2 Tribute Monsters
---------because with his normal effect you can do that for him, sacrifice him for a wind monster and he's treated as 2 tribute monsters.
~Now they are also to have 1 more ability, this one is one that you are allowed to make up but it much be something in reason and come at a cost to you as well.
-------You could do, as Whirlwind's 2nd ability, that if you discard 3 cards from your hand that you can destory one level 6 or lower monster on your opponents side of the field.
~Also if you wish then you can move your partner out onto the field to attack your opponent. They will count as part of your 5 monster card limit so if you have 5 monsters on the field already you can't bring it out. (If the monster is a Tribute monster then you do NOT need to tribute for them)
---------However, If your partner is destroyed then your life points automatically go to 0 and you lose the duel. So be careful about bringing them out onto the field.
Before you start the duel you will need to remove your Partner card from your deck. So you obviously can't draw it-unless you have more then 1 of that card in your deck. But just set them to the side before you begin and if you happen to move them onto the playing field then you can just move that card into your monster card zone.)
Also if you are unsure whether or not your 2nd effect or perhaps 2 effects, (If you are using a normal monster) will be accepted them pm myself or one of the other helpers to find out if it's too strong.
---------too strong meaning, "I remove one card from my graveyard in order to destroy all monsters on your field and in your hand." <-That is TOO MUCH
Now as for going about this with a duel......at the very beginning or your first post inside of a duel. (You and your opponent must both do this. So no one cheats later and says their speciality ability is different):
