The sky was about as blue as Kaze had ever seen it. Which was a good thing, considering he had the worst luck whenever it came to starting anew somewhere. "Sure I studied up on a place like this before, but I thought it was just some sort of myth he thought to himself. "I wonder what kind of things I'll be learning here. Feels a bit weird being away from home. He began pacing around where he currently was, back and forth, back and forth hoping for someone to come into his sights. He wanted to meet people as soon as possible, as he figured that would help him settle in quicker to this place.
He scratched his head for a bit before unshouldering his bag and browsing through it to take out a deck of his. "I hope nobody challenges me to a duel right off the bat. I haven't even decided which one I'm going to use yet. Although...since I am in a dragon house..." He drew out a card from his deck box, which happened to be a Montage Dragon, one of his all time favorites. He smirked and let out a small word of confidence, assuring himself that this could be a prominent deck of his if he applied himself and put his mind to it. Now all he had to do was eventually hunt down for some like minded duelists, as well as those who would play a deck opposite of his that could counter his dragons at any which way. But until that time, friendships ahoy!

(I hope it's okay)
Setsu made her way through the courtyard with a black messenger bag slung over her right shoulder. It was almost impossible to miss the young woman considering her unusual style. Her bond hair had pink highlights all through it and her ear was pierced 3 times, though the lowest one had a chain attached to it that connected to the ring in her lip. Her violet colored eyes scanned over the courtyard in minutes, she didn't show anything on her face, but seeing the snow all over the ground... inside it was making her grin like a little kid because of how sweet it looked.
She walked a little further along, probably making her look the most strange of all..... while sure she finally had on a long black trench coat, true to her style, the girl was also wearing black shorts with black leggings on that met with matching knee high black boots. It was a dark contrast to the snow white all over the ground, but hey, most people would call her a walking contradiction if only they knew what was going on in her head.

Seeing as there hadn't quite been anyone around just yet, Kaze took it upon himself to get settled in at his dormitory primarily, relax for a bit, and then travel back to the spot at where he had first ventured to the moment he stepped foot on the campus. Everywhere had been dead so far, and he began to wonder where everyone was. He had heard that the school was bustling when he applied to be a student. Commercials, advertisements, everything had seemed so lively to him. "Maybe everyone's just in class," he said to himself out loud, obviously with nobody in range.
After he got tired of standing still in one spot for a while and helplessly waiting for somebody that he could conversate with to arrive ( at one point he had even contemplated "speaking with nature" when he decided to plop himself down underneath a tree for a bit ) Once again, he decided to take random cards here and there out of his bag that he had decided to carry outside of his dorm room with him. After a bit of time of organizing them and different sorts of patterns and staring at them aimlessly, a gust of wind took one of his cards in the air, forcing him to glance up as he gracefully caught it. "Hm,?" he let out softly as he tilted his head a bit to the side in bewilderment. "Could it be?" Why yes it was. Finally, some sort of contact. Only now, he didn't really feel like getting up from his current position as he'd set himself in and pretty much gotten comfortable. And whenever he'd done that, it'd take a bit of time for him to get out of it. Fortunate for him, the first person he encountered upon his arrival seemed to have been walking in his general direction anyway.
It was pretty hard to get a grasp on a description of the figure that was about to approach him. It was unlike anything he'd ever seen before. People surely didn't dress like that anywhere he'd ever been, and it kinda sorta reminded him of the bad guys he'd seen on the television ( which he watches a lot of ) and movies ( which he watches a lot of ) But naturally, he wouldn't go ahead and blurt that out in the name of common sense. Not exactly a conversation starter, and as the saying partially went, "if looks could kill." Just add the fact that she looked like she COULD/WOULD kill him if he said such a thing. It wasn't that he found it outlandish after all. As a matter of fact, he found it rather fascinating. He just had to figure out a way to casually bring it into the conversation and hope that it wouldn't irritate her in any way, shape or form.
Eventually, Kaze would decide to pack his cards up in an orderly fashion and take a stand. Originally, he had thought of doing one of those cool pass by things that strangers would sometimes do in particular media showings, but then he decided against it, seeing as just how long it took to finally find somebody in the first place.
"Hi there. How's it going?," were the first words that came out of his mouth with a simple smile on his face and a slight wave. "Are you new here as well by any chance?"

Setsu shifted her bag slightly before she had started walking again. It was interesting to see that there wasn't anyone out here considering people should have been all over this place. Maybe it was just too cold for all of them out there, she herself was feeling a little chill, but it wasn't enough to make her run indoors just yet. As she walked further into the courtyard, she noticed that there actually was someone else daring enough to be out here after all. Setsu watched him with curiosity, her violet eyes locked and focused on him. He looked around her age... student... her mind automatically assumed it as so.
He almost lost one of the cards he happened to be looking at and she noticed that he looked up and took notice of her presence. Just like was expected, he seemed to be looking at her, probably thinking that she was as weird as what everyone else did. Setsu had every intention of continuing on her way until he actually spoke to her, that was certainly different. Her eyes shifted back to him, most people thought she had a predatory or evil glare going on most of the time, but it was just the shape of her eyes. She really couldn't help how she was in that sense.
Her boots stopped moving, standing only a few feet away from him as she didn't care for strangers to be in her personal space. Setsu was actually a very nice and friendly sort of person, but it took her a little bit to show that side, too many people judged her for her appearance so it was hard to be open when she found out that most people where only talking to her in jest or to tease her directly. Of course, what most of them didn't realize was that while she was nice, Setsu could fight back when she needed to, she just didn't like doing so.
"Hey, um yes. My name is Setsu. I guess that since you said 'as well' that means you are new here too. Aren't you cold sitting out here?" Her voice was kind enough, though a bit bland at the moment since she wasn't entirely sure of how to address him. She wanted to be more friendly, but wasn't sure how to just yet until she knew if he was going to be one of those people who judged her or not. Though he was smiling, so maybe that was a good sign, and since he smiled, Setsu found herself giving a small smile as well before she ended up biting her lip as her nerves kicked in.

"Setsu huh," he repeated rather bluntly, but with no malic intended. "That's a very nice name." He had hoped that he hadn't sounded like a creep because of that statement. It was the last thing he needed right now. "The name's Kaze. Kaze Saffire. It's a pleasure to meet you.." He gave a bit of a graceful bow, similar to the kind that you would expect from a fancy butler or waiter at one of those places that you normally couldn't afford to be at. "You're the first person I've met for the entire time that I've been here, which must mean that I'm off schedule of sorts. Alas, you are correct. I am new here as well. Here's to our success as new people."
To say Kaze was a bit absent minded would have been an understatement. His newfound acquaintance had taken notice of the odd fact that he had been seated outside in the oddest of weathers. "Oh no, I'm absolutely fine. But thanks for worrying." Truth be told, he was wearing quite a few layers underneath his outer layer. It was just some sort of weird style he had going on. "I've traveled the world a bit so I'm used to all kinds of climates. Especially this one. You look pretty warm yourself though." After he babbled on for a bit, he noticed her lips quiver in an odd sort of way. "You don't have to be scared of me y'know. If you wanna smile, go right ahead and smile. There's nothing to be upset about!" With both his pointer fingers, he poked each of his cheeks and let out a ridiculous sized cheese grin, akin to those you'd see in a cartoon of sorts.

"Thanks" Setsu liked her name well enough, after all it could have been worse. She was listening to him and heard him give his own name. He was the first person that she had met here at the University so it was good to remember his name in case there would be any future encounters. "It's nice to meet you as well Kaze, you're also the first person I've met since I just got here and all."
She was biting her lip again lightly, he was being pretty friendly towards her so far and he hadn't made any rude comments about her appearance or anything yet so she could relax a little... maybe. He pulled her out of her thoughts whenever he spoke about being alright out here. She guessed that traveling could prepare one for the cold if they spent a lot of time in cooler climates, she had lived in America for a long time even though she was born here so she had always been in the same type of climate, but that didn't mean she liked the cold all that much. Setsu would take summer over this any time. "Well not overly warm, I'm used to this, but I don't really like being too cold."
"I'm not scared of you... or upset" There was a light blush that rose up to her cheeks as she said this and turned her head away a little. So he wasn't scared of her appearance and he seemed to see right through her... that was definitely unusual for her. In America is where she originally began to dress like this, she and her brother were quite a force and most people stayed away from her because of how she looked and then her brothers death glare turned away anyone else who might even think of still trying to talk with her. But with her brother doing his acting and her family insisting on her being here without him... well she felt a little uncertain of herself.

"Let's shoot for two for two. Are you going to be staying in the Dragon Dorm as well? To be honest, I was quite suprised when I learned of where I was going to be staying, seeing as one of the main decks that I use is a Dragon deck." He pulled a card out from one of the pockets of his bag. "I've had this Thousand Dragon card for a while now. It hasn't been a part of my deck, but it was one of the very first rare cards I ever got from a booster pack back when I first started, so now I carry it around as a sort of momento and good luck charm. Reminds me of who I am and where I wanna be, if that makes any sense."
As he carefully placed his card back into his bag, he pulled out a light blue colored scarf, which seemed to have been very well made. "Every now and then, my family gets together and has a knitting night. It's a sort of longstanding tradition, but I usually just watch because I don't exactly have the talent for it. There was this one time where I applied myself however, and this was the end result. I hope you like it. Take it as a symbol of our newfound friendship." If it had been one of his younger siblings that he was dealing with at the moment, he would have wrapped the scarf around their neck for them. But he wasn't sure how Setsu would take that being that they had just met, so instead, he held it out in front of him with both of his hands as if he were presenting Valentine's Day Chocolates to someone.
"We could take this conversation somewhere warmer if you'd like, but first..." He took it upon himself to just throw himself backside down into the snow, and then flap his arms and legs fast and furiously to make a snow angel. He then propped himself up with a quick jump. He had heard her say that he didn't intimidate her or anything like that. "Okay. I'll take your word for it." He also noticed that she put a slight pause between her words. He took a quick and curious peek at her face when he noticed her expression change slightly. "Hey your cheeks are a bit red. Are you okay?"

"Oh, yeah I'm going to be in the Dragon Dorm as well, I'm not really sure how I ended up there.... I don't have a dragon deck, but I guess that's okay. I didn't really care where I ended up at whenever I decided to come here. I am a little bit new to dueling to be honest and I haven't yet decided on a deck type to use."
Setsu didn't really know if that was normal or unusual. People probably had an idea of the types of decks they ere going to use first before going to a dueling college.... kinda like Kaze here seemed to be pretty well set with his deck and using dragon cards for years. He had a clue about what he was doing while she was just trying to find her way without her brother being there to guide her and help her along her way. She watched as he got out the card he was telling her about. It made her wonder if everyone who used a type of deck had a favorite card that they liked as well, something that had some special meaning to them.
Her eyes widened slightly as Kaze was pulling out the scarf and then handing it to her. With him holding it out to her, she couldn't help blushing even deeper as her hands lightly held the light blue scarf that he had offered to her. It was really nice, definitely not a color that she was used to, but it was nice and it felt comfortable in her hands. "Um, you don't need to give me anything. You don't even know anything about me right now..."
"Going somewhere warmer would be alright" She said it softly, it was strange having someone being so nice to her. He was kinda to her whenever most people were too scared to speak to her. Setsu knew she was blushing more, but watching him have so much fun, was helping to relax her a little bit around him. Something about how easy going he was, was kinda contagious. There was a faint smile on her lips before she noticed him looking at her and having him comment on her blush. "I'm alright, it's probably just the cold weather. Now that you were in the snow we should really go somewhere warm before you start to feel cold."

( Sorry for the RIDICULOUS delay >_> I'll make this post, then we can kick it over to the cafeteria thread. And you can start it off )
"It's alright if you don't have a dragon deck," he began to assure her. "Not only was it a coincedence for me, but I just have the hugest feeling that I'm the only person in this dorm that actually owns and or uses a dragon deck to begin with, heh." He figured he was making her feel a bit uneasy with what most other people probably would've considered a bit of overconfidence so he attempted to change up the tempo a bit. "Being new to dueling is practically why this place exists in the first place. My dragon deck is probably my most favorite deck. It's been with me the longest. But quite frankly, I think I do better with others." As a matter of fact, his dragon deck had never made it past a first round in any tournament that he had entered it with, a problem he didn't have with most of his other "main" decks.
"Well, since we're going to be in the same dorm and all, I imagine that we'll be seeing a lot of each other, especially in classes perhaps. If you'd like, you can tell me anything that you'd like to, whether it be about yourself, or anything else in general. In turn, you can ask me anything that you'd like to as well. Let's both do our best to make this school year, and the rest of our time here, the best that it possibly can be shall we?" He took a bit of a heavy breath out loud. Perhaps an unconscious sign of sorts that the weather was starting to get to him. "With that being said, let's head on over to cafe. I'm sure it's warm inside there!" In actuality, he'd been hungry for quite some time. His stomach had been rumbling forever, and he'd done a good job of talking over/hiding it.
