Appearance:
Yura has long hair that splits into two different shades of color and reaches to the middle of her back. The back, and majority of her hair is a deep shade of brown, while the front strips of her hair, into her bangs are a pale blond.
Her eyes are a soft ocean blue which often have a sleepy look about them because of her laid back nature. Though whenever she is angry or excited about something, there's a blue spark to her eyes that is far more astonishing.
She stands at 5 feet and 7 inches tall, with a slender body frame. Yura keeps herself in shape and so her body is well tones and she often likes to show it off by wearing clothing that show off her features to the best of their abilities.
Her nationality includes both Irish and Japanese. Her mother is Japanese while her father is Irish, both living within the United States where they had met and raised their daughter. Because of her nationality, she had white skin like her father, though she has her mothers slightly narrowed eyes and average height stature.
Personality:
Yura has a very interesting personality for someone of her age. She can be very deep and wise most of the time whenever it comes to dealing with life, but she also has a tendency to not get involved in other matters unless it becomes necessary for her to.
Most of the time, Yura prefers to mind her own business and relax. In fact, she usually ends up laying around taking a nap at various times of the day instead of doing things that she should.
Very rarely, Yura has a temper which will flare up, causing her to take action and to act a bit rashly for whatever cause she thinks is worth her time. Even though she's usually pretty smart and knows how to handle herself, there are a few times where she takes action without thinking beyond whatever her current goal happens to be.
Biography:
~Parents~
Yura's mother, Miyumi, grew up in the country of Japan under very traditional beliefs from her family. They weren't strict people, though they did their best to teach their daughter about how to behave properly and how to treat others around her while also teaching her the importance of their cultural past.
Yura's father, Owen, was a man who was born and raised in Colorado of the United States. His family was from Ireland, though he himself never had the opportunity of traveling there to see the land where his family was from. Of course he has plans to travel there one day with his family so that they can see where his family had come from.
Yura's family had traveled to the U.S. often, going to Colorado because some of their family had settled there whenever they had moved out of Japan. It was there she had met Owen on a few different trips to the United States and the two fell in love, eventually moving in together in the U.S. to create a family of their own, and this was how Yura came to be.
~Past~
Yura's family was very loving and they taught her the importance of family and of being proud of the person she was. Her childhood was like any other, going to school, meeting friends and learning from mistakes that she would often make. Mistakes were a part of life though and her parents knew that they had to let her fail now and then if she ever wanted to succeed in life.
There were many times that her grandparents would travel from Japan to visit with the family, bringing her gifts and telling her tales of her ancestors, much like her father's parents did at her home all the time. Yura really appreciated all of the knowledge and learned to practice some of her family traditions, though for the most part, she preferred to do things in her own way and to find ways of incorporating her family traditions with her own ideas and beliefs.
Throughout high school she was seen as a model student who rarely missed classes and always got the top marks of her class.... unfortunately she also liked to sleep through some of her classes and she was so layed back about things that her professors thought she wasn't paying attention. Of course whenever they would ask her a question about something they were discussing, Yura would have their answer and then go back to whatever she had been doing or thinking about before.
It was thought by her parents that she would go onto enter one of the best high schools in their state, though Yura had a different plan of her own. At school she had seen kids playing a card game that interested her, not because of the game itself but because she could often see spirits floating near the people who were playing the cards, even if the people themselves never saw anything there. She had asked the kids about the game and learned it was called Duel Monsters, this led her to a few local shops where she bought starter decks and learned how to arrange her cards. In the news, there were stories about a Duel Academy opening up in the United States after it had had such success in Japan. They didn't just teach dueling, but they taught regular subjects and the people who graduated went on to be well known and famous. Yura didn't really care about that part, but she used these perks to try and sell the idea of her attending to her family.
Being a professional Duelist was something that Yura knew early on would be out of her own league, but she thought that if she could only learn more from professionals and learn how to explain what she saw with the cards, then maybe she could do things better and no think of herself as being a little crazy in the process.
It took a little bit of work, but she finally convinced them to let her go if she would keep her grades up and also learn how to duel well enough to be among the top duelist in her school. While she exceeded in classes, her dueling still remained pretty average, though her family never went through on their threat to place her into a normal school, they accepted her for who she was and saw that she was happy in her place. Even if she had to live far away to be at the Academy, they were happy for the visits they were able to get.
At 18 she graduated among the top in her classes, though still not the best duelist at the Academy. Yura had learned more about the Duel Spirits and found out that others were able to see them as well as herself, even if she kept that bit of knowledge to herself so that others wouldn't call her on it. She generally didn't care what people thought of her, but instead of relying on any spirits, she wanted to be seen for her own skills and what she could do alone. Duel Spirits seemed to be something that the other spirits found to be exciting and once they knew you had a Spirit Partner or Duel Spirits in general, they only cared about that and knowing more, thinking that somehow your spirit lent you some great knowledge or power that made you a better duelist. Yura knew this was crazy, and she didn't want anyone to think that she wasn't getting better because of her own abilities.
After leaving the academy with such high grades, it was no trouble for her to get into her local Colorado University because she wanted to be closer to her family once again. Instead of any overly fancy jobs, she decided that she wanted to be a professor or something involved with the schools so that she could help others like herself who liked to learn, but maybe didn't like to be taught in such a boring fashion as most people tended to do.
Yura managed to get a degree in teaching, and using her knowledge in dueling and in teaching she decided that she might try to work at one of the Dueling Academy's like she herself had been taught at. It seemed like a promising way to go about her life, though she had no idea that other things would come into her life and give her an even better opportunity then she had dreamed of.
~Present~
Yura had filled out quite a few applications to various Duel Academies, knowing that she would be happy to travel to any one that might offer her a job so that she could get a start in her career. Little did she know that someone happened to be looking into her background and all of her accomplishments.
After gaining her degree and sending out applications, she had managed to find a job at the same dueling academy that she had once attended. It wasn't a perfect job, but she was teaching students in the area of science, which was something that she was good at and something that she could handle without having to worry about her moderate dueling skills.
It wasn't more then 3 months after she had started into her 2nd year at the Dueling Academy, before Seto Kaiba approached her with a proposition. He was in need of a Duel Academy Headmaster after the previous Headmaster had quit and she seemed to be very qualified. At first, Yura seemed to be hesitant, but it was very little time before she finally agreed to work in the spot, given the condition that she would have her own personal assistant to do all of the paper work around the school so that she wouldn't have to do any of it.
In her own personal life: Currently
Her family is still alive and well, her father owns his own pub and her mother often cooks for the people inside whenever she's not at home taking care of Yura's 2 younger siblings.
Her younger siblings include a brother, Eric, who is 14 and a little sister, Lily, who is but 10. Both of them look forward to whenever Yura is home because she always brings them back some sort of a gift or another and takes them to amusement parks, gaming areas and more whenever she happens to be at home.
Her sister attends a regular school for now, though her brother is just getting into his second year at the Duel Academy where Yura will soon be the headmaster. Both of them are very bright, though her brother definately likes to slack off more then his two sisters.
