A young woman was seen wandering around the halls of the Shadow Castle. Most of the shadows that swept through this building chose to ignore her presence because they were used to her energy being there, it was rare for people to travel here often, but Roxie had been coming into the Shadow Realm since she was 12. Being 18, most would have thought that her soul would have been absorbed by now, but her shadow charm kept her safe, along with the fact that most of her soul was already cold towards anyone around her. Sure she played nice enough at school, but it was nice to drop the facade and be herself while she was here.
Roxie walked softly, taking her time as she looked around the Realm, her long dark hair almost giving her the appearance of a shadow from behind, though whenever you saw all of her, the pale white of her skin made it clear that she was merely a human wandering. Many could say that she was a lost soul, or perhaps she was someone who had lost her way long long ago... either could be true in her eyes. She felt as though she had little purpose in life, other then to serve the Shadows and do their biding. Perhaps serving the shadows was her reason for getting through the days, it was better then having nothing at all. She sighed lightly, pausing for a moment to look out of one of the windows. Everything outside seemed to be covered in darkness, much like the rest of this Realm, but still, it felt like home in her opinion.

School was over in the Dawn Realm, Axel had no targets in sight, which made his day emptier then normal. He could prepare his decks for future fights, but he believes that without testing them, he cannot update them even more. But he can't test his Hunt Deck against anybody, because this could reveal his origins. Axel decided to take a trip in the Shadow Realm. Maybe he could find ideas there? The young man decided to get his costume before he opened the portal to the Shadow Realm and appeared at the base of a tall dark castle. Axel hadn't been here a lot in the past, but seeing that castle standing so tall and filled with darkness was an amazing sight. Deciding to visit the inside of this building, he pushed the giant doors and entered. There was practically no light inside, making it hard to see, especially with the mask in front of his face.
He wanted to see the Realm from the highest point of the castle, to see an overview of this place he was guarding. Heading toward the stairs, the Shadows moving away from his path, the young man escalated the castle. Not long until he reached the top, he stopped. Axel was now standing in a hall, guiding to the last set of stairs that would lead to the highest point of the castle, but there was something unusual here. More like somebody unusual. A human. In a realm of darkness where no humans could live within, there was one of them staring outside. The shadows seemed to ignore her as they passed beside her, without touching the lady. Axel watched her quietly for a few seconds and decided to talk to her. Maybe he'd know how she ended here?
"Hey young lady, may I know who you are and what you're doing in this world? Surely you know that this place is not made for regular humans to exist?"

Roxie continued to stare out the window, closing her eyes for a moment as she took a deep breath. The shadows moved around her and she took comfort in them, this was one of the few places where she didn't feel as though life were judging her and pressing down upon her. Here, she seemed to be relaxing... but it seemed that her time of peace would be cut short. She felt the presence of another, the Shadow Magic was stronger then her own, but it was unfamiliar to her. There was the sound of footsteps, though she did not turn towards them until the voice reached her ears. She turned slightly, pulling her eyes away from the view outside to look towards the figure standing in the hall with her.
Her eyes widened slightly, and a small smile reached her lips. Roxie was not the sort of person who smiled easily, but seeing his appearance nearly was enough to make her laugh. She contained it within herself though... who dressed up like that in the Shadow Realm? What exactly were they trying to do looking like that? Her eyes narrowed back to normal and she took a couple of steps forward to see him better in the darkness. No, he was not familiar to her at all, though something about him was certainly stronger then most she had ever encountered here.
"Do you have a problem with my being here? I believe you are also a human so you are being a contradiction to your own claim you know."
She brushed her hair behind her shoulder, crossing her arms as she stood there, appearing to be perfectly calm and collected. The shadows still moved around her, seeming to have no issue with her presence. Around her neck, there was a length of silk ribbon and at the center sat a red stone that seemed to glow softly, her Shadow Charm that allowed her travel back and forth between this realm and the one where people normally lived.
"My name is Roxie, may I ask who you might be? And perhaps you could also explain the weird costume while your at it... Or is this the new attire for travelers here?"

The young girl looked at him and seemed to be smiling. What was she smiling about? It was kind of hard to see better, but as she got closer, he could see her visage more clearly. Her smile had vanished, but she seemed... pale and searching for something. She decided to speak, showing what she thinks is a contradiction in what he said previously. After saying those words, she placed her hair behind her and crossed her arms, revealing a small necklace with a small red stone shining softly. Could this be... a charm? Axel had seen one in the past, shown by his father, but he does not recall anyone possessing one.
She said her name, asked who he was and why he had those clothes. Well, since she worn something that seemed to be a charm, surely he could trust her, but was it enough to remove his disguise? For now, just saying his name, his previous one, and the reason he had this costume would surely be enough.
"Well, I'm not what you would call a regular human, but it is indeed a contradiction. So, nice to meet you Roxie, I'm the Guardian of this world, Axel Vandelius. The reason I'm wearing this costume is so that people don't recognize me when I move out. If people knew who was the Shadow Realm's Guardian, it could be... disastrous. Now... can I ask where you got that necklace of yours?"

"Axel... hmm, I've never heard of you before, but then I don't really look for people here to talk with when I come. I've heard of the Guardian, though I wasn't really expecting them to be so.... young. You don't look all that old for a Guardian, at least from what I can tell at the moment."
Roxie narrowed her eyes a little more as she appeared to be studying him. No, she really couldn't see most of his features because of the mask, but looking him over, he appeared to be very close to her own age. That was very interesting, if that were true, then he was probably a student at the university just as she happened to be. Oh well, it wasn't a matter for her to think about at the moment. He had asked about her necklace and her expression changed to something slightly softer.... it wasn't an expression that came over her very often.
"This was given to me by my mentor a long time ago"
There was no need for her to tell him more then that right now, if he was going to hide himself with that costume then why should she trust him. He might be who he said, but he could easily be someone else all together and be giving her a false name. Roxie wasn't trusting of humans, they had betrayed her all of her life and it took a lot for her to believe any of them. Plus her past was not something she spoke of easily to just anyone.
"You really shouldn't worry about having to hide yourself in this realm. I've been coming here for a very long time and it is rare that I run into other humans here. And most of the time, the Shadows deal with them quickly enough so it's not as though they could go and tell anyone your secrets."

She said she never heard of that name before. Good. Otherwise it would've ment she knew the family and somehow got the charm from the previous guardian. Yet, why wouldn't his father had told him in the past? He didn't know of anybody working with the previous Guardian except the one who betrayed him on Shadow Island. Unless... it was that person? She mentionned her mentor a few seconds later, maybe it was that said mentor that had killed the previous guardian? This was starting to bug Axel's mind, but he didn't have time to think of this right now.
Suddenly, she mentioned the fact that he should stop hiding, since the few humans that came here were devoured by the shadows. Although she was right, he couldn't help but feel insecure, she was also the living proof to be careful when he wanders around. But... if he wanted more info out of her, he needed to show an equal part of trust, and she didn't seem to be an enemy either, so it was worth taking the risk. The young man pushed his hood backward, revealing his purple hair. Then, he took off his mask, revealing his face and his purple-colored eyes.
"Guardians are not affected by immortality sadly. I've been appointed as the Guardian of this realm 5 years ago and working to make it better since then. Now then, shall we move to another place? There should be a living room somewhere nearby, we'll be able to sit and talk as much as we wish."

Her head tilted slightly to the right while she continued to study him. Roxie couldn't help wondering about this guy, after all he was the Guardian of the Realm that she had found herself loving so much.... This place was like her home and she greatly enjoyed coming here, if he was the one watching out for this place then she really should find a way to learn more about him. Perhaps she was already on that road whenever she came away from her thoughts enough to realize that he was removing that disguise of his. He looked like a normal person, nothing overwhelming or frightening, it was a little bit of a surprise to her to be honest.
"Alright, it matters not to me where we talk, but that is fine."
Roxie wanted to ask him how he was trying to make things better, though she held her tongue and decided to wait until they were at the location he was looking to go. Without waiting for him to make the first move, she stepped past him, heading towards the stairs to take them lower in the castle. It was a giveaway that she had been here many time before since she appeared to know exactly where she wanted to go. Down on the main level of the castle, there was a library where one could sit and talk, though if that didn't suit him, then he could easily change where they were heading by speaking up. Hopefully since he was the Guardian, he would know the layout of the castle.
"Five years ago? I see, then you must be well acquainted with the Shadow Realm now."

Before he even begins to turn around and head for the stairs, the young lady took the lead and went down the stairs. Well, surely she had a reason to be in a hurry like this? Maybe it was because she wanted to hear more of what he had planned for this world? But she didn't seem to know that he could move freely inside this world without moving a foot... Although it was more interesting to walk instead of using his powers to simply go down a couple of levels. Following her, the young man listened to what she said. She said he was surely well acquainted with the Shadow Realm. Although he did know his way around, there was something that she should know: This world changes depending on who's in it. This rule doesn't seem to affect the Guardian and, as he sees, Charm Holders since they are in the same building. Unless a Guardian intrudes upon one's vision of this world? This was matter to debate.
Soon arriving at the library, which Axel didn't mind being at, the young man found a place to sit and took the liberty of lighting the place so that they could see each other. The young man watched Roxie, feeling that she wanted to know what he meant by making this world better. This was something he had never talked about to anyone, but maybe... If he spoke about it to her, maybe she could give him a hand in this? Hopefully she wouldn't try to stop him.
"Now that we're at a better location, I believe you wish to hear what I want to do to make this realm better, correct? Well, what I plan to do is to fuse the three Realms together in order to make the Shadow World flourish, to be less Shadowy as people might say. Of course, this is going to take time, but I believe this is doable."

They made it fairly quickly to the Library and once there they took up their seats, which apparently he found to be more comfortable. It seemed that she didn't need to voice her question, Alex answered her quickly enough and she couldn't help wondering if she were that easy for him to read or if he was just that arrogant to assume that she would care at all about what he had planned. Though upon listening to his plan, she couldn't help raising an eyebrow while he spoke of combining the three realms.
"I would agree that it is doable, as the past has shown, Shadows have entered into the Dawn Realm by use of items and spirits have traveled from Twilight to Dawn, again through the use of items as well as with the help of the Guardian from that realm. Though I have to ask if you are completely mad."
It was more of a statement really and she gave away nothing on her face. Her expression clear and focused as she wondered what could possibly possess him to think that doing such a thing would do anyone any good. Roxie sighed and sat back in her chair, as expected, the one person she meets here whom she actually had been looking forward to meeting.... was a bit of a let down in her eyes. Roxie looked around at the shadows, such a thing was possible, but she doubted that it would be good for anyone.
"To put the three realms together would mean having humans, spirits and shadows all in the same location at the same time. And believe it or not, I'm fairly confident that many of the Spirits would easily crush most of world given the powers that they possess. You might believe the Shadows would dominate and make this world better, but surely you would not underestimate the power of the Spirits, not to mention the other two Guardians. You have power, but there are two others that you would have to deal with who equal your own power. Do you really think that you could do this and they wouldn't stop you?"

So far, she seemed to be following the project and was saying that it could be done since, in the past, things were linked thanks to the items. But then, she called him mad. Why would he be mad? What's so mad in wanting to unite the three realms to make them develop together? Yes 2 of those 3 realms could overwhelm the other, but they can be controlled, that's why the Guardians are there. Of course, what would be best would be to cancel the powers of the inhabitants of the Twillight and the Shadow Realm or, better yet, make them something more human. As long as they were equal to humanity, it would be no trouble. Now, how to explain this ideal?
"Spirits and Shadows are mostly equal in terms of power. There exists extremely strong spirits like there exists extremely strong shadows, it is the Guardian's duty to contain them. And that is why I do not plan on doing it without meeting the other guardians. If all 3 realms could work hands in hands, they could all develop into a new society, one which would not discard anyone and allow all people, shadow and spirits included, to have a chance at something. And so far, we've seen the situations on the two islands in the Dawn Realm, it didn't seem to cause much chaos. We only need to contain their power or give them a physical body that has no power superior to that of humans and it would succeed"

"I have seen the spirits gain a physical body before, they are in no way human even then. You don't even know what type of craziness and trouble that will cause."
Roxie gave a small laugh, it was abnormal for her, but it was hard to help it whenever he sounded so absurd. She quickly pulled herself back together, simply smiling as she sat back in the chair looking over at Axel. He was entertaining and he had been the first to make her laugh in ages... she couldn't remember the last time she had laughed actually.
"You may think that it didn't cause much 'chaos'; however, you couldn't be more wrong. Though the only thing that I can say you have going for you is the fact that most humans will probably be wiped out during your plan. If an evil Spirit doesn't kill them then the Shadows will happily swallow them up. So I suppose if you hate humanity then it's a swell plan."
Personally, Roxie believed that humans were cold, heartless beings who deserved whatever they got. She didn't really care which fate awaited them, they had looked down upon her and hated her. She herself wouldn't go torturing anyone personally, simply because she had hated the treatment and she wasn't about to act just like them.

(Sorry it took so long, had to finish some works before replying.)
The way she spoke at first, it almost seemed like she had been in the center of that chaos. Maybe that's related to her mentor story? He'd like to know more about that, but she followed up with another speech, saying that it would cause more chaos then good. But if his plan was to eradicate the human species, he had a good start. Yeah, this did sound like a good plan too... Maybe he could just make the shadows go wild in the Dawn Realm and eradicate the dumb ones? Only the chosen ones could live in the new world that was about to be born... Axel's eyes changed to a darker purple color then before. Shadow corruption sign it seems, something he still wasn't aware of.
"Potentially eradicating most of the humans could be a nice idea. Only a few chosen people would live in a new world where they would coexist with the shadows. Most humans are dumb, hypocrite and only think of themselves, it should be time to show them that they can't be more wrong with that manner of thinking."
The young man stood up and walked toward one of the windows of the library, looking outside. He was viewing this scene: chaos in the Dawn Realm as it was merging with the Shadow Realm. Yes... this would be a delightful sight. Some people would deserve this treatment, maybe he'd even get his hands on the one who was dumb enough to attack the previous Guardian? He of all people will pay the most... Turning around, he looked at Roxie.
"Well, enough speaking about this incomplete plan, why not speak about yourself a bit?"

Roxie thought there was something strange about him, but it was probably just who he was. After all, she had only been around him a few moments, there was no way that she could know everything that he was up to. If he was serious about his plan then there was going to be a lot of trouble happening all around the world. That could be an issue... it would cause the Shadows to be everywhere and they would either take people or drive others mad... and that was only if they could beat the Spirits. Then again, there were some evil spirits out there who might be happy going after humans as well so it really was a hard situation to full predict. Roxie didn't say anything more about it to him though, it seemed like he was taking her worlds into consideration and they were giving him more ideas. That probably wasn't the best thing to do right now.
Since she decided against saying anything more on the subject, Roxie watched him as he stood up and began to walk around, she wondered if he was like someone else she had met who couldn't sit still... though her mentor blamed it on the shadows, saying that because they were always moving, that he felt the need to move around all the time as well. Roxie just thought he was a little crazy from living the life they had for a long time. Living on the streets could make a person go mad if they weren't careful.
"Talk about myself?" She thought about that a moment, well he had shown his face to her and he had been honest about what he was planning so maybe she could talk to him truthfully. Roxie had no one else around her that she would dare share information with so perhaps it would be alright this one time. She sighed softly, her hand absently touching the necklace around her neck.
"There's not a lot to tell about me, you see I lost everything whenever I was a child. My family and home were all taken by a fire that someone had set. I didn't have anyone who would take him a young child so I ended up living on the streets in Domino. It was there that I met my mentor, he'd been living out there for much longer and he helped me out when I needed it. Taught me how to duel and about the Shadow Realm... but he died when I was 12 and I was left on my own with his Shadow Charm... he said it would help me out if I needed it to."
It had been since then that she was traveling to and from the Shadow Realm. She had led a very lonely life since then, but there was no need to bore him with everything about her life. Who even knew if she would see him much after today, would they keep talking or would she help him with his mission? It was difficult to tell this early on.

The young man listened to Roxie's story. Somehow, what she was saying seemed to coincide with the events relating to Axel's dad's death. Her mentor couldn't be his father, could it? No... This wouldn't make any sense. But one thing for certain is that this mentor of her was not linked to the previous Guardian's death. That's one question mark removed, but many were added in the process. Her story was quite sad, but what happened after she met her mentor? Did she keep living on the streets or did she go at his house? And there was also the manner of his death. He didn't wish to ask her now, since it would most likely hurt her, but he was keeping that in mind.
What started to interest him more was the story behind that Charm of hers, that she keeps beside her at all cost. Axel was thinking of doing researches about that charm. A power that allowed free travel through his realm, he should know as much as he can on it. But for now, he wanted to know more about the girl. Axel remembered she said she knew how to duel, thanks to that said mentor of hers. Judging from her appearance, she had... 17~18 years old surely? So her skills must've progressed since then. She could be worth testing his dark deck, legacy of his defunt dad. He smiled gently and removed a part of his robe, revealing his black duel disk.
"Since you know how to duel, why not do a small match? This could be interesting and help us improve each other's capacity."

There were a number of questions that seemed to appear on his face, though he didn't seem to be voicing them at all right now. It made her a little curious as to why, but if he wasn't going to say anything then it was probably for the better. After all, his questions might involve something that she didn't want to talk about. It wasn't until after his question that you could see a small frown appearing on her face whenever he spoke up about dueling against her.
"Why would I want to duel against you? I come to the Shadow Realm in order to escape all of that mess..." Her eyes lowered slightly and she stood up from her chair, walking over to a bookshelf that was sitting near them. There was a bit if a distant look about her as she thought, absently looking over the titles on display there.
"I kinda wish that I had never been taught to duel. I had to learn to deal with seeing duel spirits and I've never been great at dueling so it didn't help me out much over the years. Plus what good did it really do me? I was out on the streets all that time and even after Akil was gone... even then I was still out there, just alone again. You only get anywhere though actually working, this game only brings trouble. The only good I can say I got out of all this is the charm... at least here I have never needed to deal with anyone and here I have a place that sorta feel like home."
She shrugged lightly, it wasn't exactly like she absolutely hated the game, but what good did it ever really bring? Akil, her mentor, told her that it would open doors for her and help her out late in life. Though when you weren't good at the game how exactly was it suppose to help you then?
