Duel Academy was established by Seto Kaiba in the year of 2016, ten years after the end of the original Yu-Gi-Oh series.
Ten years after Jaden and his friends graduation from the Academy, 2030, Duel Academy is still running strong and new students are constantly applying.
In Domino City, many people come to try and make a name for themselves with their dueling skills. Others are here just to make a living and to enjoy their lives as they are, around dueling though not participating themselves.
New evils are constantly appearing around Duel Academy and the students and professors must rise up in order to defend their school and the world. But will they bet up for the task or will the world really plunge into the Shadows this time around.
